Travel Gadget 101 – A purse phone charger!

Smartphones have become an integral part of our lives, making it easy to quickly check Google Maps when you’re lost or search for an important email. The only problem: Your phone battery has died, or is about to!

There are many inventions to help alleviate this problem, but many are bulky devices are just one more thing to carry.

Here’s an idea that may just save your skin more than once, and wont weigh down your carry around kit too much.

Easily available from Ava and Red, Shop 2, 237-239 Flinders Lane, Melbourne.

The ‘Mighty Purse’

What it is: A small zip-up bag that comes in more than two dozen colours IMG_4237 IMG_4238and patterns in

leather and for those who choose man made materials, it comes in lots of colours too.

Compatible with: Smartphones with a micro-USB port. A small adapter makes it compatible with Apple’s iPhones as well.

Price: $84.99 to $139.99*, depending on the size of the purse or clutch and material.

What we liked: Each bag is small enough to fit inside a bigger purse, but big enough to work on its own on a night out. Check sizing for your needs.

What we disliked: It is quite hard to get at times so ordering is the best way forward to avoid disappointment. Especially if you want black.

Comment: The bag has one cord to charge the purse and another to charge your devices. Both cords are hidden in zip-away pockets inside the bag.

Handbag Butler, the bag’s manufacturer, says its bags are airline-approved and is carry-on friendly. (at the time of writing)
